The history of Chantemerle
The hamlet was build around the 17th century chapel (1684) dedicated to Saint François de Sales. The chapel was still in the 19th century a place for religious processions for saving harvests in times of drought or heavy rain. It was recently rehabilitated, and displays a pretty bulb shaped bell tower. At night the chapel is beautifully illuminated. The town recently won a special price for illuminating the 5 chapels in the valley.
Chantemerle is a special place to experience authentic french mountain life, secluded, close to nature, with the possibility to leave the house by foot or with raquettes ... or drive 4 kilometers to town to go to the swimming pool or to take the Express Cable Car.
At home you have a Wifi access and ... you can also decide to have a great disconnected vacation time to spend time in the garden enjoying the beautiful view over the valley ...
